chapitre 3: let me build my dream on yours

The change came with Team Seven, and slowly but surely Sasuke's mask seemed to slide.

Time after time, Team Seven as a whole, but Naruto especially started to mend Sasuke's broken mind, without neither of them realising it. Naruto constantly retrieved Sasuke from falling into his own path of darkness again and again.

What Sasuke did not know though, was that he himself had also saved Naruto from the solitude they both knew too well. Naruto found his hope in Sasuke - and even if Naruto himself didn't want to believe it at first, he had started admiring Sasuke. He had aspired to be like him and continued to look up to the other one, and of course, he had especially longed for the acceptance of the other teen. Sasuke was the one who subconsciously encouraged Naruto further and further, and pulled him out of his own quagmire of loneliness and abandonment.

They would have never admitted it, but in spite of all their quarelling and fighting, something different slowly shaped up - a friendship. After all the time together as Team Seven, bit by bit, Naruto was able to let Sasuke not completely forget, but bear his past - and before they knew it, they had become friends.

Both of them had an extremely big impact on each other- without Sasuke, Naruto wouldn't be the one he is today and vice-versa.

They kept motivating and pushing each other forward and thus, got stronger together. That's why I strongly believe Naruto is the one who is able to save Sasuke from his obscurity; the light that brightens Sasuke's world - the light that lets him live. Naruto's smile and that dorky, but lovely and caring personality of his is what Sasuke needs in order to finally leave his past behind and to concentrate on what lies before him - to finally chase his dream in the future.

Still I wouldn't have said, Naruto is the one to catch Sasuke if he fell. Because there is no way Naruto would let him fall..

Now, in the time as Team Seven Naruto had already begun healing the shivers of Sasuke's mind, but what Naruto didn't see at that time yet, were the scars beneath - scars which still bound Sasuke to the past and which held him in place despite his struggle for freedom. Like a never ending nightmare, which kept hunting him and didn't allow him to escape - and just as Naruto was about to break those shackles of aching memories, an unexpected event dragged Sasuke back deep into the past.
